My eSIM is showing an invalid or activation error

If you see an error message during eSIM installation, use this guide to identify and fix the issue.

Check Carrier Lock in Settings → General → About

Couldn't add mobile plan / Activation failed (Android)

Confirm device is unlocked and on stable Wi-Fi

SIM not supported / Device not compatible

Device incompatible or region-restricted

Check EID via *#06# — if no EID, device does not support eSIM

No activation code found (iPhone)

iOS version below 12.1

Update iOS via Settings → General → Software Update
