How to install your eSIM — Samsung

Last updated: June 24, 2026

Samsung devices use a slightly different path from standard Android. Before you start, make sure you have a stable Wi-Fi connection and your QR code ready.

Important: this eSIM profile installs on one device only. Once you complete installation here, the profile cannot be reinstalled on another device. If you change phones during your trip, you will need a new eSIM.

Before you start: if you're connected to a VPN, turn it off before installing. An active VPN can block the install from completing. You can turn it back on once your eSIM is installed and connected.

Step 1 — Open SIM card manager

Settings → Connections → SIM card manager → Add eSIM

Step 2 — Scan the QR code

Tap Scan QR code from service provider. If you cannot scan it, tap Add using activation code and enter the LPA:1$ code manually.

Step 3 — Install and confirm

Follow the on-screen prompts. Tap Activate when installation is complete.

Step 4 — Set data routing

Settings → Connections → SIM card manager:

  • Set Mobile data to your travel eSIM
  • Keep Calls and Messages on your home SIM
  • Enable Data roaming on your travel eSIM line

On One UI 4 and newer, you may see a Default SIM screen automatically during setup. Confirm each setting before continuing.
