eSIM Activation Delayed or Stuck

Last updated: June 24, 2026

If your travel eSIM was installed successfully but has not connected after arriving at your destination, this is what to check.

Wait a few minutes first

Your eSIM searches for a local partner network automatically when you land. In some countries or airports with weak signal, this can take up to 5 minutes. Turn off airplane mode and wait before troubleshooting.

Step 1 — Confirm data roaming is enabled

See Do I need roaming enabled to use my travel eSIM?.

Step 2 — Toggle airplane mode

Enable for 30 seconds, then disable. This resets the network search.

Step 3 — Restart your device

Step 4 — Select a network manually

iPhone: Settings → Cellular → Network Selection → turn off Automatic → pick an available network

Android: Settings → Network & internet → Mobile network → Network operators → Search manually

Step 5 — Confirm you are in a covered country

See What countries are covered?.

Still not connecting after 30 minutes?

Contact support through the app. Include the country you are in, your device model, and what you have already tried.
