Is my device eSIM compatible?

Last updated: June 24, 2026

Most smartphones released after 2018 support eSIM, but not all do. Here is how to check.

Compatible device families

Brand

Compatible from

iPhone

iPhone XR (2018) and newer

Samsung Galaxy

S21 series and newer (most models)

Google Pixel

Pixel 3 and newer

Other Android

Check your device manufacturer's specs

Devices sold in mainland China do not support eSIM even if the same global model does. South Korean Samsung devices may also be restricted.

How to check on your device

iPhone: Settings → Cellular → Add eSIM. If the option appears, eSIM is supported.

Android / Samsung: Settings → Connections → SIM card manager → Add eSIM (or similar). Labels vary by manufacturer.

Any device: Dial #06# to display device identifiers. If an EID number appears (a 32-digit code), your device supports eSIM.

Your device also needs to be carrier-unlocked

An eSIM-compatible device that is locked to another carrier will not accept a travel eSIM profile. See Is my device carrier-unlocked? to check.
