How to install your eSIM — Android

Last updated: June 24, 2026

Steps vary slightly by manufacturer. The path below covers most Android devices.

Important: this eSIM profile installs on one device only. Once you complete installation here, the profile cannot be reinstalled on another device. If you change phones during your trip, you will need a new eSIM.

Before you start, make sure you have a stable Wi-Fi connection and your QR code ready.

Before you start: if you're connected to a VPN, turn it off before installing. An active VPN can block the install from completing. You can turn it back on once your eSIM is installed and connected.

Step 1 — Open eSIM settings

Settings → Network & internet → SIMs → Add SIM

On some devices: Settings → Connections → SIM card manager → Add mobile plan

Step 2 — Scan the QR code

Tap Scan QR code and point your camera at the code. If the camera cannot scan it, tap Enter activation code manually and paste the LPA:1$ code.

Step 3 — Confirm and install

Follow the on-screen prompts to download and install the eSIM profile.

Step 4 — Set data routing

Go to Settings → Network & internet → SIMs → select your travel eSIM → enable Roaming.

Set the travel eSIM as your preferred SIM for mobile data. Keep your home SIM selected for calls and texts.

Menu labels vary by Android version and manufacturer. If you cannot find the eSIM menu, search *eSIM* or *SIM* in your device's Settings search bar.
