What data speeds are included?

Last updated: June 24, 2026

Your travel eSIM delivers mobile data at the speed available from the local partner network in each country. Speeds vary by destination, network, and device.

What speeds can I expect?

Where 4G LTE or 5G networks are available and supported by your device, you will connect at those speeds. In areas with only 3G or 2G coverage, speeds will be lower.

What happens when I reach my data limit?

On most plans, data stops when your allowance is used up. Some plans throttle to a reduced speed instead of cutting off completely. Check your plan details in the app to see which applies to you. See What happens when I run out of data?.

Why might speeds be slow?

  • Network congestion — speeds can be reduced during peak usage times even within your allowance
  • Coverage in your area — signal strength varies by location
  • Your device — older devices may not support faster network bands
  • VPN — an active VPN can reduce data speeds

Is hotspot / tethering available?

Yes — most travel eSIM plans support hotspot. See Can I use hotspot with my travel eSIM?.
